Hey Daniella,
Sounds great – although writing poetry can sometimes be just as much about self-expression and communication as it is about being ‘any good’.
I hope you join in the WA festival and get some more inspiration!
You’re invited to come along to Perth Poetry Club anytime you like, it happens every Saturday afternoon from 2-4 pm at the Moon cafe in Northbridge (Perth), if you arrive a few mins early you can get your name onto the open mike list, which gives you a chance to share your stuff with the audience – they are a friendly crowd. Heap more info on the website perthpoetryclub.com .

Welcome to the world of writing poetry Daniella! Getting feedback on poetry is an invaluable way to improve your writing as is reading a lot of good writing. In my experience, I’ve found that it is always good to ask English teachers, avid readers, and other writers for constructive criticism. Attending creative writing workshops is also an excellent way to receive advice about your writing. Good luck!
