Song Lyric Writing Competition

As part of the 2010 WA Spring Poetry Festival, WA Poets Inc are running a song lyric writing competition.

First prize is a Savannah Songwriter acoustic guitar valued at $300 – kindly donated by JAG Music.

The competition is for song lyrics only – music is not required.

Anyone can submit as many entries as they want - $5 per entry.

All songs submitted must be the original work of the entrants in the competition.

There are no limitations as to themes or song length.

Songs will be judged anonymously by a panel with considerable experience in music and poetry.

Submissions can also be mailed to 8 Scarp View, Swan View WA 6056.

All entries must be typed. Handwritten submissions will not be accepted.

Place surname and “song contest” in the reference. Receipts will be issued via email only upon request.

Cheques should be made payable to WA Poets Inc. Receipts will only be issued if a stamped self addressed envelope is also included with the submission.

The deadline for receipt of entries is 31st July 2010.

Winners will be announced and prizes presented on 29th August at City Farm.
