ABOUT US
WA Poets Inc was set up in 2006 following the success of the inaugural WA
Spring Poetry Festival in 2005. It became apparent after that first festival that Western Australian poets wanted an organisation that was dedicated to providing resources and
services to poets and poetry.
WA POETS INC AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: - Organise an annual WA Spring Poetry
Festival.
- Develop online networks in the form of a web-database of WA poets and WA Poets Inc members
- Develop a resource base in the form of a web-site, including information on readings, competitions, opportunities, etc.
- Explore, and where possible provide, publishing opportunities for WA poets and WA Poets Inc
members
- Work towards raising awareness of WA poets and poetry nationally and internationally
- Work towards bringing poetry to the public and poets together
By showcasing local, national and international poets, we believe that we can show the public the camaraderie that exists between poets and their work in general.
