WA Poets Inc was set up in 2006 following the success of the inaugural 2005 WA Spring Poetry Festival. It was apparent that Western Australian poets wanted an organisation dedicated to providing resources and services to poets and poetry.

WA POETS INC AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:

• Organise an annual local poetry festival
• Develop online networks ithrough a web-database of WA poets and WA Poets Inc members
• Develop a resource base through a web-site to include information on readings, competitions, opportunities, etc.
• Explore, and where possible provide and promote publishing opportunities for WA poets and WA Poets Inc members
• Raise awareness of WA poets and poetry locally, nationally and internationally
• Provide opportunities to bring poets and the community together

By showcasing local, national and international poets, WA Poets Inc.intends to demonstrate, to the community, the camaraderie that exists between poets                and the excellence of their work.
